Please Support the Arts

If you find this website useful and informative, please support the efforts of the Arts Movement so we can continue to create and expose others to quality, responsible art and artists. A purchase of any of the products supports the site directly, and a donation of any amount will help hosting costs.

Thank You

Whether you support this website or not, please support your local artists. Art is the last bastion on non-corporate controlled expression, and one of the few professions available where one does not need permission, certification, or allowance to engage in. This absence of a filter keeps the arts extremely diverse, but also keeps them extremely pure, outside of the corporate controlled artists and those with "corporate-controlled" aspirations. Artists are the lifelines of a community, and the expressers of the community voice. so please support them.

Non-financial Support

Support does not always have to be financial. Too, you can support the arts and artists by:

  • Attending expositions - Even if you do not intend to make a purchase, just shaking hands and speaking with the artist and letting them know you support their efforts goes a long way. Many artists would prefer having 100 people that are interested in them and what they have to offer who aren't buyers, rather than just 10 people who are buyers. Meaningful art is about the message first and a message cannot travel with no one to hear it.
  • Telling your friends - Word of mouth, email, and text communication is an invaluable way to support the arts. Local artists often cannot afford to spend thousands on advertising, and therefore, they cannot compete with the corporate machines that are designed to move product. So the majority of artists, do what artists had to do hundreds of years ago, which is depend upon the community to get the word out, if they, in fact, have something that the community supports. So, when you hear something, something that you support of course, let others know.
  • Bring food and refreshments - If food and refreshments are not provided, or even if they are, it never hurts to bring them to any gathering.
